Today’s Veterinary Business Staff

MWI Animal Health has folded its four U.K. subsidiaries into the parent company under a restructuring announced Nov. 12.
The four entities now known collectively as MWI Animal Health are:
- Centaur Services, a supplier of animal health products and services to more than 1,200 veterinary practices in the United Kingdom. MWI, one of the world’s largest veterinary industry distributors, purchased Centaur in 2010.
- St. Francis Group, the United Kingdom’s leading animal health buying group. MWI acquired St. Francis Group in 2016.
- Vetswest, another veterinary buying group. It was purchased by MWI in 2015.
- Vet Space, a provider of practice management software. It was acquired by MWI in 2014.
“Our customers want to focus on their patients and clients, and that’s what this new combined platform allows,” said Brian Topper, managing director of MWI Animal Health UK. “We are able — all through MWI Animal Health — to offer our customers a complete and comprehensive offering of services to support all of their needs.”
The process of fully integrating the subsidiaries is expected to take 12 to 18 months, a company spokesperson said.
MWI Animal Health, which serves more than 3,000 U.K. veterinary practices, is headquartered in Boise, Idaho.
