Wedgewood Pharmacy is voluntarily recalling almost 4,000 compounded products because they may contain too much or too little active ingredient. According to a company press release, the recall resulted from its own quality processes, which revealed inconsistencies in the reliability of analytical testing data. Wedgewood has received 98 complaints to date, including seven serious complaints.
The recall includes a variety of oral, injectable, and topical products intended for companion animals, exotic pets, horses, wildlife, and zoo and aquatic animals. The affected products were shipped to veterinary practices, pharmacies, and other clients between Feb. 18 and Oct. 6, 2026. A complete list of affected products, including lot numbers and expiration dates, is available on the company’s website.
Wedgewood has engaged recall management company Sedgwick to coordinate recall efforts. Sedgwick will notify affected customers by email or mail to arrange a refund or replacement, if possible.
Wedgewood advises veterinary practices to check their inventory immediately, stop using affected products, and contact clients who received them. Practices can call Wedgewood’s recall services at 866-562-5931 for guidance. Pet owners who have received affected products should stop using them and contact the pharmacy’s recall services.
Wedgewood reports that it is working with veterinarians and pet owners to identify alternative treatment options to maintain continuity of care.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is aware of the recall, and adverse reactions or quality issues related to the products can be reported on the FDA website or by calling 1-888-FDA-VETS.
