A battle of the bands aboard the USS Midway, 900 educational sessions and a keynote address by author Patrice Washington are among the events awaiting attendees at the American Veterinary Medical Association convention in San Diego.
The AVMA opened registration for the meeting, which will be held from July 31 to Aug. 4, at avma.org/convention.
“It’s appropriate that this year’s convention theme is ‘Powered By You,’ as the AVMA and our annual convention have been more focused than ever on responding to member input and shaping the convention experience to meet their needs,” said AVMA President John Howe, DVM. “From our app that lets attendees customize their on-site schedules, to an ever-increasing and diverse lineup of CE sessions, to expanded networking and entertainment options, this year’s convention in sunny San Diego will be a world-class experience for veterinary professionals, shaped by veterinary professionals.”
Also planned are the Veterinary Career Mix & Mingle, sponsored by the AVMA Veterinary Career Center, on July 31 and a fireworks display following the musical competition Aug. 2 on the historical U.S. Navy aircraft carrier.
Washington’s speech, set for Aug. 1, will “empower attendees to embrace well-being and wealth-building by leaning into the areas of life that matter most,” the AVMA reported. She hosts the “Redefining Wealth” podcast.
