Today’s Veterinary Business Staff

The hospital management company Pathway Vet Alliance signed agreements to oversee 55 additional practices in 2018, increasing its roster to more than 175 clinics in 33 states.
Newcomers in the fourth quarter included 17 hospitals in states such as Colorado, Illinois, Florida, New York, Oregon, Utah and Texas. During the year, Pathway expanded into South Carolina, Louisiana and Oklahoma.
“2018 was a big year for Pathway, from our rebrand in early spring to partnering with nearly 60 veterinary practices throughout the country,” said CEO Stephen Hadley, DVM, MS. “The growth we have experienced and the success of our partnerships thus far have us setting the bar high for 2019 in terms of affiliating ourselves with new hospitals, as well as providing resources to our current practices.”
Affiliated hospitals keep their name, culture and staff. Pathway takes responsibility for back-office support, education and other resources.
The Austin, Texas, company’s rapid expansion is largely the result of investment funds managed by Morgan Stanley Global Private Equity, which partnered with Pathway in August 2016.
