Today’s Veterinary Business Staff

National Veterinary Associates, which operates nearly 600 hospitals, has chosen Covetrus as the chain’s preferred prescription management partner.
“With this expanded partnership, we are looking forward to giving our hospitals and clients more convenient options to get the medications our patients need,” said Erik Philipp, senior director of category management at NVA.
The Covetrus prescription management platform is integrated into a hospital’s practice management software system and online pharmacy.
“As we continuously invest in new technology, workflow and capabilities to make prescription management easier, we are excited about the significant opportunities to better help thousands of NVA veterinarians drive improved compliance and better practice health,” said Georgia Wraight, senior vice president and president of Covetrus Global Prescription Management.
Covetrus was formed in early 2019 through the merger of Henry Schein Animal Health and prescription-management provider Vets First Choice. The company last summer announced that it would serve as the chief distributor of veterinary products and services to the start-up hospital chain Heart + Paw.
