Today’s Veterinary Business Staff

MightyVet, a nearly year-old initiative designed to help veterinary professionals with their careers and personal wellness, has appointed three industry veterans to the founding board of directors.
They are:

He is board president of the Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association and a member of the California Veterinary Medical Association’s Animal Welfare Committee.
- Vice President Laura Strong, DVM, the director of university relations for Community Veterinary Partners and a member of the clinical relations team at the Lincoln Memorial University College of Veterinary Medicine. She is a Certified Compassion Fatigue Professional (CCFP).
- Treasurer Chris Dollar, a senior vice president at Covetrus and the company’s president of Global Software and Services. He is former president of Global Animal Health Practice Solutions at Henry Schein.
MightyVet is an online community offering continuing education, networking and mentoring in the support of veterinarians, veterinary nurses and students faced with personal or career challenges. The effort has the backing of more than 20 industry partners, including Trupanion, Covetrus, Patterson Veterinary and the Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges.
“As MightyVet continues to grow within the veterinary industry and expands on its offerings, we’re thrilled to have such a wealth of industry experience and leadership to head up our board of directors,” said MightyVet founder Steve Weinrauch, BVMS, MRCVS, chief veterinary officer at Trupanion. “Barry, Laura and Chris are all well respected in their fields, and we couldn’t ask for a better team to help guide the MightyVet movement in our continued support of veterinary professionals.”
