Manna Pro Products has added to its holdings with the acquisition of VetScience LLC, the manufacturer of Fruitables dog treats and food supplements.
Manna Pro expanded into the pet wellness, grooming, oral care, and flea and tick categories over the past year with the takeover of companies such as Corta-Flx Inc. and PetzLife Products Inc.
The terms of the latest transaction, announced May 29, were not released.
“Fruitables treats and supplements will be a strong addition to our portfolio of premium pet products,” said John Howe, president and CEO of Chesterfield, Missouri-based Manna Pro. “Consumers are feeding their pets similarly to how they are eating, and Fruitables has been an early leader in offering healthy options.”
VetScience, headquartered in Dallas, was co-founded by John E. Bauer, DVM, Ph.D., DACVN. Among the company’s products are pumpkin and sweet potato food supplements formulated to support the digestive system and weight management.
Manna Pro, whose flagship product is the performance supplement Calf-Manna, last year purchased Corta-Flx, a manufacturer of nutritional supplements for horses and dogs, and PetzLife, a maker of flea and tick repellents, bathing and wound care products, and pet treats.
