Manna Pro Products has strengthened its position in the supplements market with the acquisition of Corta-Flx Inc., a manufacturer of nutritional supplements for horses and dogs.
The purchase, the terms of which were not disclosed, came weeks after Manna Pro bought PetzLife Products Inc., whose Complete Oral Care line is sold at veterinary clinics and retailers nationwide.
Two years ago, upon the purchase of the Nutri-Vet and Petnology Essentials lines, Manna Pro expanded into feline and canine supplements from its then-core business of selling feed and health care products for large animals.
Manna Pro, based in Chesterfield, Missouri, moves into another niche market with the takeover of Corta-Flx. The Aiken, South Carolina, company makes joint, ulcer and poultice products for performance horses and joint supplements for dogs.
“This acquisition greatly complements Manna Pro’s product offerings, as we are able to add a brand-new category with ulcer-management products and enhance our joint supplement offerings,” said Manna Pro’s vice president of marketing, Beth Rogers.
With its September 2017 purchase of PetzLife, Manna Pro also acquired flea and tick repellents, bathing and wound care products, and pet treats.
