Today’s Veterinary Business Staff

BabelBark Inc., a developer of software products for use inside and outside of veterinary practices, has raised $4.5 million to help the company expand internationally and fund other initiatives.
The Series A funding, announced Aug. 15, exceeded the initial goal of $2.9 million.
“We are excited for this strong financial support from both of our new and existing investors who share our vision to connect everyone in a pet’s life,” said Roy Stein, BabelBark founder and CEO. “We are ahead of our targets in every parameter, and this funding expansion will help us reach more than 250,000 pets on the platform in the next six months, allowing BabelBark to become the most connective and comprehensive platform across the pet care community in North America in a year.”
BabelBark, headquartered in Newton, Massachusetts, offers three products:
- BabelBark, a mobile app that helps pet owners manage their pet’s records, medications, diet and activity. A free health monitoring app may be downloaded through the App Store and Google Play.
- BizBark, a software platform that connects pet owners with service providers such as groomers, walkers and boarding facilities.
- BabelVet, a software platform that integrates with a veterinary practice’s management system and connects veterinarians with clients through real-time updates and information sharing.
Some of the $4.5 million will be spent on marketing and employee hiring, BabelBark reported.
