Today’s Veterinary Business Staff

The GuardianVets mobile app has been updated to support curbside, contactless appointments with pet owners.
Parking lot signage prompts pet owners to check in on the GuardianVets app upon their arrival. Veterinary team members are alerted and then bring the patient inside the clinic, the Chicago company reported.
“Meanwhile, the pet owner uses the GuardianVets app to receive real-time video access into the exam room,” the company stated.
“Involving the pet owner virtually allows real-time communication, demonstrates value to the client and reduces the veterinary team’s need for the phone,” said Katherine Donahue, DVM, GuardianVets’ chief medical officer. “This in turn frees up lines for new incoming calls.”
The company’s triage, telemedicine and client communication technology is used at veterinary hospitals across the United States and Canada
In April, GuardianVets was named the preferred telehealth vendor for Midwest Veterinary Supply’s mClub members.
