Today’s Veterinary Business Staff

Contract and nutraceutical manufacturer Vets Plus Inc. has hired the former president and CEO of Virbac US as its chief commercial officer.
Paul Hays will oversee the sales, marketing and commercial development activities for all Vets Plus brands and for the company’s Noble Pharma manufacturing division, Vets Plus reported.
“Paul’s broad leadership experience, extensive list of industry relationships and his expertise in commercial strategy will be invaluable to Vets Plus, especially as we begin to branch out from our traditional business model,” Vets Plus President David Nelson said.
Hays was in charge of Virbac’s North American operations from 2012 to 2018 and previously served as president and CEO of the veterinary diagnostics company Synbiotics Corp., which was later sold to Pfizer Animal Health. He continued at Pfizer as vice president of global diagnostics until 2012.
Vets Plus, headquartered in Menomonie, Wisconsin, makes health and nutrition products for livestock and companion animals. The company acquired Merrick’s Inc., a supplier of nutritional supplements to the dairy industry, in December 2018.
“This is an exciting opportunity for me to join an entrepreneurial and agile culture with so much potential,” Hays said.
He was replaced at Virbac, the maker of Sentinel heartworm preventives and other animal health products, by François Fournier, Pharm.D., MA.
