Antech has launched the trūRapid Reader in North America. The portable device is designed to automate result capture for the company’s line of in-house rapid screening tests.
According to Antech, the device captures digital images of test results — including those for heartworm, tick-borne diseases, and feline retroviruses — at the specified 10-minute mark. This eliminates the need for manual timers while storing up to 200 images for veterinary review. Once confirmed by clinical staff, the results can be directly transferred into a clinic’s practice management software and viewed within Antech’s HealthTracks digital platform.
The reader features a touchscreen design and requires no routine maintenance or calibration, as diagnostic samples do not enter the device’s internal components.
Highlighting the operational benefits for busy veterinary teams, Dr. Jimmy Barr, Antech’s chief medical officer, stated that simplifying diagnostic testing workflow helps clinics “work more efficiently, move faster, and make timely, informed decisions with confidence.”
