NAVC Launches ‘Best Places to Practice’ Program
The North American Veterinary Community and Today’s Veterinary Business have launched the Best Places to Practice program. All veterinary practice leaders are invited to register their clinics for free and complete a survey about their workplace, leadership approaches, and staff experience. Team members at registered practices will also be invited to complete a separate, confidential survey about their roles and experiences. Participating practices will receive access to a free dashboard with high-level survey data. Top performers will be recognized in a listing of the best practices in a 2027 issue of Today’s Veterinary Business.
CVPA Responds to Mission’s VPA Opposition
The Coalition for the Veterinary Professional Associates (CVPA) has issued a response defending the veterinary professional associate (VPA) role against criticisms from Mission Pet Health. Pushing back on claims of minimal training, the CVPA highlighted the framework’s regulated supervision and nearly 1,000 hours of practical instruction. The organization urged Mission to help responsibly integrate the position rather than oppose it.

PetSmart Charities Launches Fellowship Program
PetSmart Charities has launched its Veterinary Fellowship Program to improve access to community pet care across the U.S. Partnering with Colorado State University, Cornell University, the University of Arizona, the University of Minnesota, and the University of California, Davis, the inaugural cohort of 15 fellows will receive financial support, mentorship, and practical training. Part of a $100 million commitment, the program is projected to generate over 550,000 annual community care visits by 2032.
Midwest Veterinary Supply Names Inventory Ally as Preferred Partner
Midwest Veterinary Supply has selected Inventory Ally as the preferred inventory management partner for Midwest Veterinary Supply’s mClub loyalty program. This integration connects mClub members’ negotiated pricing, rebates, and promotions directly to their practice management systems. According to the companies, the collaboration automates weekly replenishment based on real usage and factored-in discounts. Midwest’s mClub members receive special pricing on Inventory Ally.
VVCA Selects New President
The Veterinary Virtual Care Association (VVCA) has named Dr. Jessica May as president of its board of directors, succeeding founding chair Mark Cushing. Previously chairing the VVCA’s European committee and serving as lead U.K. veterinarian at FirstVet, Dr. May brings extensive experience in veterinary telemedicine. She will lead the organization in advancing the responsible, evidence-based integration of virtual care globally, while Cushing continues to serve on the board.
