Hill’s Launches New Prescription Diet
Hill’s Pet Nutrition has launched Prescription Diet Metabolic + j/d, a therapeutic cat food that combines the company’s existing metabolic and joint support formulas into a single product. The new diet is designed for overweight cats with mobility issues, addressing both conditions simultaneously. It features omega-3 fatty acids to reduce inflammation and support joint cartilage, along with a nutrient profile clinically shown to activate metabolism and promote weight loss.
New Canine Heart Murmur Detection Tool Launches
Boehringer Ingelheim and Eko Health have introduced Eko Vet+ | CanineBeat AI, a digital solution that helps veterinarians detect, visualize, and grade heart murmurs in dogs. The tool combines a digital stethoscope attachment, an artificial intelligence algorithm trained on more than 4,000 canine heart sound recordings, and a companion app that generates shareable reports.
Royal Canin Releases Aging Conversation Guide
Royal Canin has released its Healthy Ageing Conversation Guide to help veterinary teams prompt earlier, more proactive client conversations around healthy aging in pets. New research presented at the Royal Canin Vet Symposium 2026 revealed that while aging in pets can be modified through earlier intervention, most owners aren’t acting proactively. A survey of more than 19,000 pet owners found that 44% only consider aging once health issues arise. The conversation guide can be downloaded from the Royal Canin website.
Hill’s Symposium to Focus on Gut-Skin Axis
Hill’s Pet Nutrition has opened free registration for its 2026 Global Symposium, set for June 22-24. The virtual event, themed “Healthy Skin Starts from Within,” will feature experts covering the gut-skin axis, canine atopic dermatitis, skin barrier nutrition, and the skin-microbe interaction in allergic disease. Sessions will be available via the Hill’s Veterinary Academy platform in English, Japanese, and Korean, with on-demand access after the live event. The live, in-person event will be held in Phuket, Thailand.
Project Sticker Launches Campaign for Mental Health Month
Project Sticker, a nonprofit supporting veterinary professional retention, has launched “Tell Us Something Good,” a campaign inviting veterinary professionals to share meaningful moments from their work through notes, short videos, or social posts. Timed to Mental Health Awareness Month, the initiative aims to counter a profession marked by high psychological distress.
