Synchrony Partners With Figo and Embrace
In an effort to simplify the management of veterinary care costs and streamline pet medical insurance claims reimbursement, Synchrony has partnered with Figo Pet Insurance and Embrace Pet Insurance. The collaborations allow for approved Figo and Embrace claims to be reimbursed directly as a credit to a pet owner’s CareCredit account after they pay for care with their CareCredit card, something previously only available to Pets Best and Pumpkin pet insurance customers. According to Synchrony, pet owners can use CareCredit at approximately 85% of U.S. veterinary practices, and these partnerships help to reduce payment friction and support timely treatment decisions.
Pet Toxicity Claims Increase
Pet medical insurance provider Trupanion has released new data revealing an increase in pet toxicity claims. According to the study, the frequency of toxicity-related claims has increased by over 30% for dogs and 50% for cats in the U.S., and 19% for dogs and 27% for cats in Canada, since 2020. The most common toxins resulting in veterinary visits included grapes/raisins, chocolate, and medications. Access the data here.
NAVTA Releases Scope of Practice Report
The National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America has released a report examining the status of veterinary scope-of-practice acts across the U.S. and their impact on the profession. The report includes a 50-state review of veterinary practice acts and board rules; a national survey of veterinary professionals on scope-of-practice enforcement, recognition, and impact on career sustainability; and NAVTA’s recommended scope-of-practice law changes. Fear Free and NAVTA Announce Collaboration
Fear Free and the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America have announced a partnership to support veterinary technicians. The collaboration will provide NAVTA members with expanded access to Fear Free memberships, which include certification and continuing education designed to support technician growth, low-stress handling, and improved patient experiences. Both organizations have stressed a commitment to “elevating the technician voice across the profession.”
