The new hospital, on the outskirts of Philadelphia, is staffed by a board-certified veterinary dentist and a board-certified veterinary anesthesiologist.
Veterinary Dentistry Specialists reported that its Chadds Ford and Mount Laurel, New Jersey, hospitals together employ three of the 172 active board-certified veterinary dentists in the United States and two of the 220 board-certified veterinary anesthesiologists.
The practice owner is Carlos Rice, DVM, DAVDC, who works at the New Jersey location.
Overseeing the Pennsylvania clinic are veterinary dentist John Lewis, VMD, FAVD, DAVDC, and veterinary anesthesiologist S. Bryce Dooley, DVM, MS, DACVAA.
The new clinic was originally a farmstead barn that was converted to a winery five years ago.
“The winery owners did an outstanding job with the restoration of the barn,” Dr. Lewis said. “We spent a large amount of time and resources creating a facility that respects and retains much of the building’s history, while also showcasing the future of veterinary dentistry.”
Working with Dr. Rice in Mount Laurel are Andrea Caniglia, VMD, DACVAA, and Viacheslav Eroshin DVM, DEVDC, DAVDC.
