Pet owners evacuated from fire-stricken areas of Southern California can take advantage of free boarding services at participating VCA veterinary hospitals.
VCA Animal Hospitals made the offer Dec. 6 as wildfires burned more than 100,000 acres and an undetermined number of homes in Los Angeles and Ventura counties.
“Our thoughts are with the many families who are being impacted by these wildfires,” said Art Antin, chief operating officer of Los Angeles-based VCA Animal Hospitals. “We are extending free boarding for family pets that have been displaced by these fires so families can feel confident their pets are safe and focus on their priorities during this critical time.”
Free boarding of dogs, cats, birds and pocket pets depends on space availability at VCA hospitals located near the fire areas.
Pet owners may call 800-VCA-PETS to check on availability.
