Southern Veterinary Partners is doing business in a dozen states following the hospital consolidator’s acquisition of practices in Kentucky and Maryland.
The Birmingham, Alabama, company’s 78th and 79th practices are Lyndon Animal Clinic in Louisville, Kentucky, and Glade Valley Animal Hospital in Frederick, Maryland.
“Our rapid growth from starting in one state in 2014 to in 12 states in less than five years is more than I could have envisioned when I conceptualized SVP,” said CEO Jay Price, DVM. “This growth is due to our extraordinary veterinary leadership and management teams and the reputation we have built in the industry for listening to veterinarians’ needs.”
Southern Veterinary Partners also has the financial backing of the equity firm Shore Capital Partners.
The chain’s 79 hospitals receive centralized support in the areas of marketing, human resources, finance, and inventory and purchasing. The practices are permitted to keep their names, culture and staff.
