Today’s Veterinary Business Staff

The public relations firm Germinder and Associates has named veterinary behavior consultant Debra F. Horwitz, DVM, DACVB, its first Power of Pink honoree.
The award was launched in January to mark Germinder’s 20th anniversary and 20 leaders whose stories have touched and inspired people.
“[Dr. Horwitz’s] ultimate goal has always been to help the public create a safe, happy and loving relationship with their pets through a better understanding of dogs and cats and how they see the world,” said the firm’s president and founder, Lea-Ann Germinder, APR.
“Her story is a leadership success story. She is a fantastic collaborator, a consummate professional, and cares deeply about both the veterinary profession and educating the public.”
Dr. Horwitz is past president and former public relations chairwoman of the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists. She and Germinder worked together on the Keep the L.O.V.E. Alive Tour sponsored by Ceva Animal Health and the ACVB.
Horwitz will sign copies of her book, “Blackwell’s Five-Minute Veterinary Consult Clinical Companion: Canine and Feline Behavior, 2nd edition,” during the VMX conference at the Goodnewsforpets Expo Hall booth. VMX takes place Feb. 3 to 7 in Orlando, Florida.
