Today’s Veterinary Business Staff

Pet Insurance Review, a resource for pet owners seeking policy information and price quotes, has redesigned its website.
The update followed the May 2017 sale of the website — petinsurancereview.com — from founder Mike Hemstreet to London-based Equimedia and owners Andrew and Louise Burgess.
The expanded website includes articles, a blog and 45,000 insurance reviews written by pet owners across the United States and Canada. The material is intended not only to educate pet owners about insurance options and compare providers but to promote veterinary visits, Louis Burgess said,
“We aim to continue enforcing responsible pet ownership by encouraging pet owners to consult with their veterinarians as early as possible,” she said.
An “Owner’s Area” addresses common pet health issues and nutrition topics.
Pet Insurance Review, started in 2005, generates revenue through a lead-generation business model. Five percent of website revenue is donated to either North Shore Animal League America or the Canadian Federation of Humane Societies.
