VCA Charities, the fundraising arm of more than 800 VCA Animal Hospitals nationwide, has set a $600,000 goal for its annual Pennies for Pets program.
The fundraiser, running from April 1 to June 30, encourages VCA hospital clients to donate in support of animal welfare organizations. The 2017 campaign raised $450,000 for more than 85 groups.
“The need for assistance for pet welfare organizations continues to rise,” said Ron Tatum, executive director of VCA Charities. “Through our partnership with VCA hospitals … we are all working together to help more pets in need.”
Among the dozens of 2018 recipients are the Humane Society of Hamilton County in Indiana and the WSU Rabies Vaccination Program at Washington State University. A complete list of the beneficiaries may be viewed at http://bit.ly/2E6krU0.
