Today’s Veterinary Business Staff

Students interested in becoming a veterinary practice manager are invited to enroll in a new Penn Foster College online program.
The Scottsdale, Arizona, private school on Dec. 15 launched the Veterinary Practice Management Undergraduate Certificate. The seven-course program covers veterinary practice management, human resources management, business orientation, marketing, basic accounting, principles of management and business ethics.
“Not only does it set up those who want to go directly into practice management for success by means of its certification, but it’s an excellent option for veterinary technicians looking to move to the administrative side of a practice,” said James Hurrell, DVM, director of Penn Foster Veterinary Academy. “The program teaches skills that will help individuals manage the complexities of a veterinary practice and drive the business to greater success.”
Penn Foster reported that students who complete the on-demand program will meet the education requirement if they want to sit for the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association’s certified veterinary practice manager (CVPM) examination.
