Today’s Veterinary Business Staff

Pathway has moved into a 15,500-square-foot office to support the veterinary hospital management company’s rapid expansion.
The space in the historic Seaholm Power Plant in downtown Austin, Texas, is four times larger than the old headquarters. The move was deemed necessary as Pathway added nearly 100 hospitals to its roster in 2017, said CEO Stephen Hadley, DVM, MS.
“This will allow us to continue offering support to our ever-expanding teams nationwide and aid in increasing the local appeal of our fast-growing company,” Dr. Hadley said.
Pathway provides centralized management of more than 125 general, emergency and specialty hospitals it owns partially or outright. The company started with a single hospital in 2003 but has grown into a midsized network with locations in 26 states from Massachusetts to Hawaii.
Pathway expects to hire an additional 45 support personnel as part of an overall workforce of 2,500.
The company reported that the Austin location allows Pathway to “better leverage the city’s diverse, highly skilled talent pool.”
“Having our offices in Austin’s dynamic downtown will enable us to foster and grow the vibrant culture we’ve created,” Dr. Hadley said. “This will allow us to continue offering support to our ever-expanding teams nationwide and aid in increasing the local appeal of our fast-growing company.”
The expansion has been largely funded through a 2016 investment by Morgan Stanley Global Private Equity.
