Today’s Veterinary Business Staff

Do you know a veterinary hero? The animal welfare group American Humane and sponsor Zoetis Inc. are soliciting nominations for the seventh annual Hero Veterinarian and Hero Veterinary Nurse awards.
Veterinarians and nurses identified by April 2 at www.herovetawards.org will be cut to five finalists, who will be put to a public vote running from June 11 to Aug. 13. The winners will be announced Sept. 26 during the 10th annual American Humane Hero Dog Awards ceremony.
The 2019 winners were Terry Morris, DVM, MS, Ph.D., of Durham, North Carolina, and Angel Martin, RVT, of Lawrenceville, Georgia.
“The American Humane Hero Veterinarian and Hero Veterinary Nurse Awards are our way of thanking these tireless individuals,” said Tara Bidgood, DVM, Ph.D., DACVCP, executive director of Zoetis Petcare Veterinary Professional Services. “Veterinarians and veterinary nurses are leading the effort to keep America’s animals happy and healthy, and they deserve recognition from a grateful nation.”
The veterinarian award is open to all professionals, including those who work in small or large animal medicine, research, emergency services and shelters.
More information about the Hero Dog awards and the canine nomination process ending March 10 is available at www.herodogawards.org.
