Patterson Veterinary Supply has agreed to acquire 100-year-old distributor Miller Veterinary Supply for an undisclosed price.
Miller Vet, a family-owned business headquartered in West Point, Nebraska, operates warehouses in Florida, Georgia, New Jersey and Texas. The company stocks 30,000 veterinary products and offers next-day delivery to 23 states, according to its website.
Patterson reported that “a large number” of Miller Vet’s approximately 45 sales representatives will work for Patterson when the transaction closes by late July.
“In addition to strengthening our competitive position in the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and Southeast markets, the acquisition is expected to expand our core sales reach and create synergies with our strategic vendors,” said George Henriques, MBA, president of Patterson Veterinary Supply.
David Gnad, DVM, the president and CEO of Miller Vet Holdings, said the company “long admired Patterson Vet and how they provide services to the companion animal market.”
“Our customers will benefit from Patterson’s scale, broad product portfolio and exceptional value-added services,” he said.
Patterson Veterinary Supply, a provider of products, equipment, software and services, is based in St. Paul, Minnesota.
