Today’s Veterinary Business Staff

Veterinary equipment maker Midmark Corp. is expanding its animal boarding and containment offerings through the acquisition of a competitor, Mason Company.
Terms of the transaction, announced June 4, were not revealed.
Mason focuses on kennel systems, grooming tables and accessories. Midmark sells an array of veterinary equipment, including monitors, treatment tables and lighting, and also does business in the human medicine and dentistry professions. Among Midmark’s animal containment options are cage banks, cat condos and interlocking stainless-steel kennels.
“The expertise Mason brings to Midmark enhances our position to design better care environments for our customers,” Midmark CEO and President John Baumann said.
Both companies have long histories in southern Ohio. Mason is 127 years old and headquartered in Leesburg. Midmark, founded in 1915, maintains a factory and offices in Versailles.
