The website, www.MerckVetManual.com, offers free, unlimited access to veterinary professionals and students.
Among the enhancements, according to Merck & Co. Inc., are:
- A more prominent search box.
- An alphabetical “letter spine” for locating animal health topics.
- Quick links to pet health information and resources such as case studies, quizzes and clinical calculators.
- Home-page sections dedicated to featured content, videos and animal health news.
The Merck Veterinary Manual also is in available in a print version and a free mobile app. The 11th edition was published in 2016.
Two non-veterinary manuals, one for human medicine professionals and the other for the general public, also offer free digital access.
“The Merck Manuals websites provide comprehensive and reliable health information unencumbered by advertising,” said the publisher, Melissa Adams.
