Jasper, a community for people navigating pet loss, announced the launch of “The Forever Space” during National Pet Memorial Month. The organization describes the resource as a free online home for memorializing the pets who have shaped our lives.
According to the American Pet Products Association, about 95 million households own pets, and the Pew Research Center found that 97% of pet owners describe their pets as part of the family. However, there has historically been little space to grieve their loss.
The Forever Space lets pet owners create a lasting tribute to their pet by compiling photos, memories, and stories in one place. The memorial can be shared with family and friends, who can also contribute, and a Jasper membership is not required.
The space is Jasper’s most recent offering. Founder Britta Mulderrig developed the organization after struggling to find support when her dog passed in 2024. “Memorializing Jasper was an important part of my grief journey, but finding the right way and space to do that was difficult,” she said.
Jasper also offers live support groups, one-on-one grief counseling, and expert resources to help people navigate pet loss grief.
