Idexx Laboratories Inc. is taking orders for ProCyte One, a new hematology analyzer that is scheduled for release in early 2021.
According to Westbrook, Maine-based Idexx, ProCyte One is designed to produce point-of-care test results in less than five minutes. Among other features of the tabletop device are:
- Reticulocyte counts with every complete blood count.
- Automatic quality control and load-and-go components.
- Simplified results interpretation.
- Recyclable containers.
“ProCyte One reimagines point-of-care hematology with a radically simple workflow that virtually eliminates complexity without sacrificing performance,” said Jay Mazelsky, president and CEO of Idexx.
Early sales of the device are underway in North America. Veterinary practices in select European markets will be able to place orders later in 2020, the company reported.
