Hyperbaric Veterinary Medicine has installed a veterinary-specific hyperbaric chamber at Louisiana State University, the third veterinary school to house an HVM unit.
The Boca Raton, Florida, company reported Jan. 25 that 10 more locations now offer hyperbaric oxygen therapy using its veterinary-specific hyperbaric chambers. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy may be used for a wide variety of medical conditions but is especially effective against hypoxia, inflammation and ischemia, or inadequate blood supply, HVM reported.
The Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine joined the University of Florida and Auburn University in employing HVM chambers.
Other recent installations occurred at:
- Aurora Animal Hospital in Terrytown, Louisiana.
- Hometown Veterinary Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.
- Regional Emergency Animal Care Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina.
- HypOPets, a referral facility and standalone veterinary hyperbaric treatment center in Naples, Florida.
The BluePearl chain will install its first HVM chamber at a hospital in Louisville, Kentucky, the manufacturer stated.
