The owners of Advanced Animal Hospital Group and Progressive Pet Animal Hospitals have merged their chains to create the 22-clinic Midwest Veterinary Partners network.
Shore Capital Partners, a private equity firm based in Chicago, funded the consolidation, which was announced Nov. 1. The financial terms were not disclosed.
Advanced operates nine hospitals in Wisconsin, three in Michigan and two in Illinois. Progressive has eight in Michigan. All are general practice clinics.
“With Shore Capital Partners’ investment and by joining forces with Progressive Pet Animal Hospitals, we will have the additional resources and capabilities to create a leading veterinary services company in the Midwest,” said Advanced founder Vic Dhillon, DVM.
Shore Capital reported that it “invest in infrastructure to standardize operations and provide support to MVP’s current and future clinics including centralized finance, accounting, human resources, IT, sales and marketing.”
Progressive’s owner, Jeff Rothstein, DVM, MBA, said the “investment and partnership will greatly expand our bandwidth and help grow our team of passionate and knowledgeable veterinary professionals.”
