Today’s Veterinary Business Staff

Two veterinarians who recently completed clinical nutrition residencies have been hired by Hill’s Pet Nutrition to share their knowledge with practitioners and others.
Michael Robbins, DVM, joined the U.S. Professional Affairs Team as a scientific communication specialist. Dr. Robbins, whose residency was done at the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine, will speak at veterinary meetings and consult with veterinary teams on difficult cases, Hill’s reported.
Catherine Ruggiero, DVM, MS, who completed her residency at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine, is a specialized consultation clinician in the Veterinary Consulting Service. She will offer advanced case consultations, general advice and support to veterinarians, specialists and veterinary students, Hill’s stated.
Both of them are eligible to sit for the American College of Veterinary Nutrition diplomate examination.
“Having boarded or residency-trained nutrition specialists at the heart of our professional team ensures that we are offering the highest level of expertise to our veterinary colleagues and pet parents,” said Jolle Kirpensteijn, DVM, Ph.D., DACVS, the chief professional veterinary officer at Hill’s US.
The company’s brands include Science Diet, Healthy Advantage, Bioactive Recipe and Prescription Diet, a therapeutic line.
