Free: Diabetes education for clinics and clients
The Pet Diabetes Resource Center is a service of Henry Schein Animal Health.
Henry Schein Animal Health has launched the Pet Diabetes Resource Center, a web-based collection of articles, videos, webinars, infographics and other materials designed to raise awareness and improve management of the disease.
Located at www.henryscheinvet.com/petdiabetes, the resource center was released in November as part of Pet Diabetes Awareness Month.
“Education and knowledge are the most effective weapons against pet diabetes, and Henry Schein is committed to helping the veterinary community prevent, or recognize and manage, pet diabetes,” said Fran Dirksmeier, president of Henry Schein Animal Health, North America.
Among the free resources are:
- The American Animal Hospital Association’s “2018 Diabetes Management Guidelines for Dogs and Cats.”
- Client education material such as a diabetes checklist, guides to managing feline and canine diabetes, and an insulin treatment monitoring sheet.
- A step-by-step guide to injecting insulin at home.
- A YouTube video on how to use an insulin pen.
