Switzerland-based Stonehaven Consulting is acquiring Brakke Consulting, a leading animal health market research firm.
Ron Brakke, founder and president of Dallas-based Brakke Consulting, will serve as a Stonehaven consultant for at least a year, the companies announced Jan. 16. Brakke’s other consultants, including veterinarians Lynn Fondon and Cary Christensen and analyst and project manager John Volk, will become Stonehaven employees.
The merger gives Stonehaven “transatlantic reach and expertise,” the companies stated.
“Stonehaven and Brakke share a common goal in serving clients in the animal health space,” said Brian Kopp, a Stonehaven partner. “The combined experience of our team of experts, as well as an expanded range of capabilities and service offerings, will allow us to better meet the needs of an evolving industry in the largest animal health markets.”
Ron Brakke said the merger “will create a critical mass in areas of market studies, general consulting, executive search and other consulting services that will be hard for others to match.”
Terms of the transaction, which is expected to close during the first quarter, were not announced.
Brakke Consulting was founded in 1986. Stonehaven was started in 2015 by former Novartis Animal Health CEO George Gunn.
