Today’s Veterinary Business Staff

Essentials PetCare has opened its sixth and seventh walk-in veterinary clinics inside Dallas-area Walmart stores.
The newest practices, in the cities of Fort Worth and Weatherford, provide preventive care, lab work, exams and treatment of minor illnesses in dogs and cats. Patients needing emergency care or surgery are referred to nearby full-service veterinary hospitals.
Essentials PetCare operates nine clinics in partnership with Walmart. The Fort Worth and Weatherford locations opened Jan. 8, and one in Denton, Texas, debuted Jan. 3. Single practices are found in Port Richey, Florida, and Dallas, Georgia.
The next two clinics are expected to open in Prosper and Gainesville, Texas.
The company is headquartered in Largo, Florida. Its co-founder and president is Douglas Spiker, DVM.
