ElleVet Sciences has introduced a CBD chew formulated to help dogs overcome noisy or stressful situations such as fireworks, thunderstorms and travel.
Calm & Comfort contains the active ingredients CBD (cannabidiol) and CBDA (cannabidiolic acid) as well as peanut butter, rice bran and brewer’s yeast.
“Pet owners don’t give this to their dogs every day, just when it’s needed, and they can keep some on hand for emergencies,” said Christian Kjaer, CEO of ElleVet Sciences.
Calm & Comfort is the company’s third canine product. Also available through its website and select veterinary clinics is the Mobility line of joint-support chews and oils made with hemp CBD and CBDA. A blend of cannabinoids and sesame seed oil is sold for cats.
ElleVet Sciences’ chief medical officer is Joseph Wakshlag, DVM, Ph.D., DACVN, DACVSMR, a professor of nutrition and sport medicine at the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine.
