Today’s Veterinary Business Staff

Eleanor Green, DVM, DACVIM, DABVP, the outgoing dean of the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine, has been named a Bridge Club Industry Icon.
Dr. Green, who is leaving academia for a job with the lobbying firm Animal Policy Group, will be honored Jan. 18 at the Hyatt Regency Orlando. Tickets are available for purchase at http://bit.ly/2LpHI9U.
Dr. Green will speak about “lessons learned and share her vision for the future of veterinary medicine,” according to the event’s organizers.
The Bridge Club is a mostly online veterinary community devoted to group discussions and networking.
“From telemedicine and the elevation of veterinary technicians to improving access to care and driving cats to practices, The Bridge Club is focused on bringing veterinary professionals together via conversations on topics that are important to the industry,” co-founder Catherine Haskins said.
Dr. Green, a member of the Today’s Veterinary Business editorial advisory board, intends to leave Texas A&M by mid-2020. Her role at Animal Policy Group will focus on regulatory, policy and strategic issues.
A former veterinary practice owner, Dr. Green was a founding faculty member at the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She taught at the University of Missouri, the University of Tennessee and the University of Florida before becoming Texas A&M’s Carl B. King Dean of Veterinary Medicine in 2009.
The previous Industry Icon was John Payne, the founder of Compassion-First Pet Hospitals and a former CEO of Banfield Pet Hospital.
