Today’s Veterinary Business Staff

Community Veterinary Partners, which co-owns and manages 45 animal hospitals in 10 states, has hired a human health care veteran to take over as CEO.
Kevin Ruffe, MBA, previously served as chief growth officer at MedExpress, where he oversaw the Morgantown, West Virginia, company’s expansion into 250 urgent-care facilities across the United States.
Ruffe has been given similar orders at Philadelphia-based Community Veterinary Partners, the company announced March 26.
“Kevin’s appointment is a reflection of CVP’s tremendous growth over the past few years and more importantly CVP’s positioning for even stronger growth in the coming years,” co-founder Daniel Eisenstadt said.
Community Veterinary Partners is responsible for its practices’ marketing, finance and human resources functions. The onsite veterinary team makes the clinical decisions.
“What makes us different is that we provide support to our vet partners, but at the same time we allow them to maintain their brand and vision,” Ruffe said.
