A veteran business leader has been appointed chief operating officer of SAGE Centers for Veterinary Specialty and Emergency, a four-hospital network in Northern California.
Gina Del Vecchio, MBA, previously worked as senior director of global operations at the specialty retailer Gymboree, supply chain vice president at equestrian apparel manufacturer Ariat International and chief operating officer of eco-friendly products maker Lifefactory.
“[Del Vecchio] is a collaborative leader with years of experience finding new potential in growing organizations, as well as mentoring and developing their teams,” said SAGE medical director Julie Smith, DVM, DACVS, CCRT, MBA. “She also has a deep interest in socially responsible business practices, which aligns really well with our mission and values.”
SAGE, founded in 1992 as Veterinary Surgical Associates, operates hospitals in Campbell, Concord, Dublin and Redwood City, California. The company specializes in cardiology, critical and emergency care, dermatology, integrative medicine, internal medicine, neurology, oncology, physical rehabilitation and surgery.
