The American Veterinary Medical Association will host its annual Veterinary Business and Economic Forum online October 7 and 8, providing practice leaders with research-backed insights into the business side of veterinary medicine.
The event will feature the release of the 2026 AVMA Pet Ownership Demographics Sourcebook, offering practices evidence-based data to inform their business strategies.
According to the AVMA, the forum’s keynote presentations will focus on client and team dynamics. Dr. Barbara Kahn will discuss retail perspectives on reaching pet owners and building client loyalty amid digital disruption, while Dr. Jason Coe will explore how communication, trust, and team alignment directly shape practice performance and profitability. Additional sessions will cover macroeconomic outlooks, practice buying and selling considerations, and financial benchmarking.
AVMA president Dr. Jen Quammen noted that veterinary businesses are navigating rapid industry changes, and the forum is designed to provide leaders with the data necessary to adapt, equipping them with “practical tools to strengthen both their business and their relationships with clients and teams.”
